Joseph R. Bongiorno

Joseph R. Bongiorno is the principal founding member of the law firm of Joseph R. Bongiorno & Associates Attorneys at Law. With over forty years of experience in civil litigation, he focuses on complex medical malpractice cases, product defect disputes, commercial litigation, securities fraud, and general personal injury. Throughout his career, he has represented foreign liability insurance companies, oil and gas companies, and international manufacturers involved in personal injury and property damage claims.


Mr. Bongiorno is a graduate of Boston College and Fordham Law School and is admitted to practice in both state and federal courts in New York and New Jersey. He had the privilege of learning from William F.X. Geoghan, his former partner, who was renowned as one of the finest trial lawyers in New York.


Dedicated to the needs of the underserved and injured, Mr. Bongiorno approaches his work with compassion and diligence. Henry Iervolino

Henry is a highly accomplished Attorney, Senior Executive, C-Suite Officer, Entrepreneur, Consultant, and Board Member. Since 1994, Henry has been practicing law with 36 years of success across various sectors, including financial services, real estate, investment banking, and consulting, making him a valuable resource for clients, including those seeking civil litigation expertise. His extensive background in leadership and strategic planning also aids organizations needing guidance in financial markets, executive management, and organizational structure. Henry's areas of expertise encompass corporate finance, executive consulting, regulatory/legal compliance, and business analysis, as well as personal injury attorneys and medical malpractice lawyers who may require legal counsel for complex cases. With a focus on problem-solving, brand building, and growth, he is adept at addressing the challenges presented in today's global market. 


In his executive career, Henry has consulted at Tahoe Development Corporation LLC, Triton Capital Management LLC, Scudder Asset Management, Merrill Lynch, Citicorp, and Dreyfus Asset Management Company. He currently leads the firm Henry Iervolino, Esq., PLLC and serves as Of Counsel to Joseph R. Bongiorno and Associates. Previously, he was the CEO/President of a national specialized investment advisory firm catering to institutional investors, HNW Individuals, and charitable organizations. Over a span of 14 years, he was responsible for portfolio development of all investment accounts, acting as Outside Chief Investment Officer (OCIO) for a $1B+ insurance company, and successfully increasing its investment portfolio value from $668M to $1.34B—outperforming the industry index by 1.86% annually. Henry has managed all asset liability management, benefit cost analysis, investment guidelines adherence, portfolio global compliance, and external manager oversight. As SVP/Executive Director of Retail Products for Scudder Asset Management, he oversaw four departments and over 300 professionals, including those in the AARP division, product development, marketing, and direct sales, while managing division budgets and developing new AARP products.


Henry earned a B.S. Cum Laude in Finance from New York Institute of Technology, where he was a 3-Year Varsity Captain with a full baseball scholarship and a two-time NYIT Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee, in addition to being a 3-Year Professional Baseball Player. He also holds a Juris Doctor (J.D.) Cum Laude in Law and Tax from St. John’s University, School of Law. Furthering his professional development, he graduated from the Wall Street Management Program at Wharton Business School and has achieved certifications in Series 6, 7, 8, 24, 63, and 66. Henry has served on boards and advisory councils, including at the New York Institute of Technology University, where he is the Chairman of the Investment Committee and a member of both the Finance and Executive Committees. Currently, he is a member of the New York State Bar Association and is authorized to practice law in the Federal Courts in the Eastern and Southern Districts.

James Grady

Judge Robert Beltrani (ret)

Robert Beltrani obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Long Island University in 1985, attending on a C.W. Post Academic Scholarship with a major in Political Science. He then secured his Juris Doctorate from Brooklyn Law School in 1988, and is admitted to practice law in the State of New York in the 2nd Department, as well as before the United States District Courts in both the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.


Fresh out of law school, Mr. Beltrani worked for a prominent land use attorney in Smithtown, Long Island, before joining Langan and Levy, Esqs., (Hartford In-House Counsel) in 1989. There, he handled insurance defense matters, including commercial liability and insurance law, as well as negligence, labor law, and dental malpractice. He later became an associate at Robert P. Sweeney & Associates (State Farm In-House Counsel), where he managed a substantial caseload in insurance defense, focusing on commercial liability and negligence, often in Kings or Bronx Supreme Court.


In 1994, Mr. Beltrani established his own practice, dealing with a wide array of legal matters, such as personal injury actions, which align with the work of personal injury attorneys, landlord/tenant litigation, real estate transactions, land use, and the acquisition and sale of commercial enterprises. That same year, he was sworn in as an Administrative Law Judge in the City of New York, conducting parking violations hearings. By December 2003, Judge Beltrani was appointed as an Administrative Law Judge and Acting Supervisor at the New York State Division of Parole, where he served until November 2017. During his tenure, he conducted parole revocation hearings and acted as the supervisor of the Rikers Island Judicial Center.


Judge Beltrani has also served as an Arbitrator in the New York City Civil Court, Queens County, and in Small Claims Court. He was a member of the Queens County GOP’s Screening Panel from 2005 to 2015, eventually becoming Vice-Chairman in 2009, Executive Vice Chairman in 2013, and then Chairman in 2014. He has provided his legal expertise to various Queens and Suffolk races, as well as to national campaigns on election law matters. Currently, Mr. Beltrani represents a diverse array of clients, managing civil litigation cases that include contract disputes, corporate dissolutions, civil rights claims, sexual harassment claims, and municipal law. His practice also involves arbitration and mediation at the Federal, State, and local levels. With extensive experience, Mr. Beltrani has litigated and negotiated successful settlements for countless clients, including those related to medical malpractice, a critical area for medical malpractice lawyers.

Donald Rizzuto

With over thirty years of experience, Mr. Rizzuto brings his business and financial oriented expertise in financial services, real estate, and civil litigation, particularly in medical malpractice cases and personal injury claims, in state and federal courts in an Of Counsel role to Joseph R. Bongiorno & Associates, PC. He is particularly adept at identifying, evaluating, and implementing business growth opportunities, including mergers & acquisitions, divestitures, public offerings, strategic alliances, and joint ventures across various industries. His educational credentials include an MBA, LLM, and JD, and he has a working knowledge of conversational Spanish.

Marisol Teran

Marisol Teran is the firm’s Managing Legal Secretary who is bilingual and has been with the firm for 35 years. Her areas of concentration and expertise include personal injury law, civil litigation, immigration, medical malpractice, and family law. She also manages traffic court and other administrative tasks along with the daily operations of the firm. Ms. Teran understands the stressful nature of any injury-related case and court proceedings, making it her priority to communicate with our clients through each step of the case. Her strong client management skills have fostered decades of solid professional relationships. With her many years of experience, loyalty, and reliability, she has become an invaluable asset to this firm. As a crucial member of our personal injury team, Marisol provides comprehensive administrative and legal support, ensuring that our personal injury attorneys and paralegals can focus on advocating for our clients. She is dedicated to delivering compassionate client service, connecting with clients on a personal level, and understanding their situations. Joey Bongiorno

Joey Bongiorno plays an essential role in the day-to-day operations of the firm as a part-time intern, primarily focused on supporting the billing department, which is crucial for our civil litigation and medical malpractice lawyers. He works closely with internal staff and personal injury attorneys to ensure that all invoices are entered with precision and delivered promptly. His keen attention to detail and strong commitment to clear, consistent communication help keep internal staff aligned and informed on all billing-related matters.


In addition to his work behind the scenes, Joey Bongiorno is often the first friendly face to welcome clients and visitors to the office. His warm, approachable demeanor helps foster a professional yet comfortable environment, embodying the firm’s dedication to exceptional service and client care.
